Community Plays Baseball To Celebrate Indiana's Bicentennial

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (21Alive) ? Another one of America?s favorite past times is baseball, as games with an old-school flavor were played as part of Indiana?s Bicentennial celebration.

Players wore vintage hats and uniforms and played by rules that were in place back in 1862.

Baseball gloves weren't invented until years later, so bats and balls were the only equipment used.

Local officials say baseball has been a part of New Albany?s history since the end of the Civil War.
